Hi from Newcastle

Hi, I'm Steve and I'm from not so sunny Newcastle upon Tyne. At present, I'm quite a noobie to caching. I started a year ago, found 4 caches then due to ill health and work, I stopped then didn't restart until recently. I'm now up to 20 finds which, even though its not a lot, I'm pleased with.
Its noce to find a site thats dedicated to just British caching. Only problem is I cannot find a section for the North East of England. Seems like its the only area not covered on the regional forums. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Welcome Steve. I'm not local to you but others are so I'm sure someone will be able to tell you about local forums soon.

Alternatively why not go along to a local event and meet other cachers face to face? Events are informal with lots of people who love talking about local caching, so it's a good place to start. Just use "hide and seek a cache" near your location and filter on event caches.
